# Location sharing

What the app records about where people are, with whose consent, and what a coordinator sees in the Command Center.

Location sharing is on by default for staff. Your phone still controls location permission, and a saved off choice stays off.

Your coordinator sees where you are on the team map while your task work clock runs and the app is open. Nothing is sent otherwise. You can turn Share my location while I work off in Profile before starting your first task, or at any time later. Your choice is saved for this organization across devices.

## What is shared, and when (https://app.proptonomy.ai/docs/location#what-is-shared)
- Check-in and check-out: Always stamped with the time and the position at that moment. This is the proof the work happened at the property.
- While working, with sharing on: A position every two minutes while the work clock runs and the app is open, plus one final position when the clock stops.
- With sharing off: Only the check-in and check-out stamps. No pings.
- When the app is closed or in the background: Nothing. The app does not track in the background.
- Off the clock: Nothing, sharing on or off.

Note: The phone asks too. The operating system asks for location permission the first time. Proptonomy only reads location while the app is open, and says so in that prompt.

For coordinators, admins and members: who is working, where they last were, and what they are on.
- Open Command Center in the navigation. People show on its map, and its Team tab lists everyone with their status: Working, On the way, Free, Done for today or Off today.
- Staff members do not have it. They see their own tasks, not their colleagues’ whereabouts.

## Turning it off (https://app.proptonomy.ai/docs/location#turning-it-off)

In the app, Profile has the switch Share my location while I work. Off means only the check-in and check-out spots are recorded. Admins and members find the same switch under Settings → Availability. The phone’s own location permission for Proptonomy can be withdrawn in the phone’s settings as well.
